Hello,
Thanks for reading my letter. My name is Ellen and I would love to adopt your baby. I have wanted a baby for as long as I can remember and I can’t wait to share my life and my family with a child. I think kids are amazing and I look forward to providing a wonderful life for your baby, full of possibilities and stability. I know that you must be a very special person to be making an adoption plan for your baby and I would be honored if you chose me to be your baby’s parent.
Let me tell you about myself. I grew up in New York City and still live here today in a very lively, kid-friendly neighborhood downtown. It is a very stimulating, wonderful environment. There are children’s playgrounds, parks, museums, really great schools, theaters, galleries, outdoor cafes and so much more. My building has lots of families with kids, and we share a common roof deck where people get together for dinner, parties or just to hang out. In fact, right now, as I sit here writing this letter there is a dad up here blowing bubbles and chasing them around with his son.
I grew up in a loving family where I was brought up to believe I could do anything I wanted. Having that support has enabled me to believe in myself and follow my dreams. I will do my best to pass this belief on to your child. I believe every kid should feel this way.
I studied fine arts in college and still continue to paint today. I have worked very hard in my career and have arrived at a very good position as a design director at a major magazine. Having established myself in this position has enabled me to have a flexible schedule, allowing me to be available for a child. I enjoy my work immensely but feel that work is not everything and it really is all about family. This is one of the many reasons I am looking to adopt a baby. I feel that there is nothing in life that compares to being a mom and I can’t wait to share love and every opportunity life has to offer with your baby.
My mother is a very big part of my life and we are very close. She is a strong, loving, generous person. She lives close by and is always there for me, offering her love and support. I have a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins in New York and all over the country. I was always very close with them growing up and in fact we still take a family vacation once a year with my mother, aunt and cousins, and their kids. We have travelled the world together, from London, Paris, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Iceland and some others. I find this time spent together very special and it is a practice I hope to continue for years to come. My hope is to one day bring along my own child.
I have a very sweet dog named Eve that I adopted from a greyhound rescue group. She is one of those retired racing dogs. She is very friendly and loves kids. Eve and I take long walks around the city, visiting friends and eating in outdoor cafes when the weather is good. I have a lot friends who live close by with their children and are a big part of my life. We meet for breakfast on a regular basis or at each other’s homes for dinner. I know that they would all embrace a new member of our close-knit group and they can’t wait for me to adopt.
